The DASR is a society of scholars and teachers of religion, as well as others with an academic interest in religion and the  historical study of religions.

The aim of the DASR is to strengthen the scientific study of religions nationally and to promote Danish scholars of religion internationally.  We do this by arranging symposia and lectures, by supporting the publication of books and periodicals, and through co-opoeration with our sister organizations abroad.

DASR was founded in 1982.

DASR is afiliated with the International Association for the History of Religions (IAHR) as well as the European Association for the Study of Religions (EASR).
